1. Non-affiliation

Hardened Pixel Co. ("we", "us") is an independent third-party reseller. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or officially associated with the GrapheneOS project or its developers, Google LLC, or any mobile network operator or SIM provider. GrapheneOS is developed by an independent non-profit open-source project. We do not develop, modify or distribute modified versions of GrapheneOS. We install the official, publicly available releases. The GrapheneOS project provides no support, warranty or guarantees for devices sold by us.

2. Warranty

Manufacturer warranty

Installing a different operating system involves unlocking and re-locking the bootloader. We make no representation that Google's manufacturer warranty, or any carrier warranty, will apply to a device purchased from us. Whether it does depends on the unit's condition (new vs refurbished), purchase history, your region, and Google's policies, which may change. Google may decline service or require the stock OS to be restored first. Consumer-protection laws in your country may give you additional rights that these terms do not limit.

Our limited warranty (placeholder): We warrant devices against hardware defects for [90] days from delivery. This does not cover accidental damage, liquid damage, unauthorized repair, normal battery wear, or software issues, including app incompatibility (see section 3) or issues caused by software you install. Remedies are repair, replacement, or refund at our discretion. Contact us at contact@example.com to make a claim.

We provide no warranty for GrapheneOS itself. GrapheneOS is open-source software provided by its developers under its own licenses, "as is".

3. App & service compatibility

GrapheneOS is not a Google-certified operating system. As a result:

  • Google Wallet / Google Pay contactless payments do not work.
  • Apps that require Google's Play Integrity API "device" or "strong" integrity verdicts may not work, including some banking, payment, government ID, streaming, gaming and corporate apps. App developers can change their requirements at any time, and an app that works today may stop working later.
  • Google Play services are optional and are not preinstalled. When installed, they run as sandboxed apps, and some features that depend on privileged OS integration are unavailable.
  • Carrier features such as VoLTE, Wi-Fi calling, visual voicemail, RCS and eSIM activation vary by carrier and region.

We cannot guarantee compatibility with any specific app, service or carrier. Please check your essential apps before you buy.

4. No guarantee of security or anonymity

We describe GrapheneOS as privacy-first and as a way to minimize tracking and reduce your footprint. We do not claim any product makes you anonymous or untraceable. Your carrier can see your SIM and device identifiers (IMSI/IMEI) and your approximate location, payments can be linked to you, and accounts you sign in to identify you.

GrapheneOS substantially improves privacy and security, but no device, operating system, SIM or accessory can guarantee security, privacy or anonymity. Your protection depends on how you use the device, which apps you install, your network and carrier, and your threat model. Nothing on this site is legal, security or professional advice. You are responsible for using our products lawfully.

5. Returns & refunds (placeholder)

  • Returns accepted within [14] days of delivery, in original condition with all accessories.
  • Contact us first for a return authorization. Placeholder: who pays return shipping.
  • Refunds are issued to the original payment method within [X] business days of receiving and inspecting the device.
  • Activated eSIM profiles, prepaid SIM credit and setup sessions already delivered are non-refundable (placeholder; check local law).
  • We factory reset all returned devices on receipt. Please remove your accounts and data before you send a device back.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to a product is limited to the amount you paid for that product. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including data loss, or loss of access to apps, accounts or services. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

7. Trademarks

GrapheneOS and the GrapheneOS logo are trademarks of the GrapheneOS project. Google, Pixel, Android, Google Play, Google Pay and Google Wallet are trademarks of Google LLC. Interac and Interac e-Transfer are trademarks of Interac Corp. All other trademarks are the property of their respective owners. They are used on this site only to identify products and compatibility, and their use does not imply any affiliation or endorsement. We do not use any of these companies' or projects' logos.

8. Privacy policy (summary)

  • This website uses no analytics or third-party trackers, and no cookies for visitors. The only cookie is the sign-in cookie for our own admin page.
  • Orders: when you order, we store your name, email, delivery address, optional phone number and note, the products, totals and payment details in our order database hosted by Cloudflare (Cloudflare D1). We use them only to fulfill your order, provide support and keep tax records. We keep order records for [X years] as required for tax and accounting, and periodically erase names, emails and addresses from old closed orders.
  • Email: order emails are sent through Resend, which processes your email address and the message content for delivery.
  • Crypto payments: to detect Bitcoin and Litecoin payments, our server looks up your order's payment address on public blockchain services (mempool.space and litecoinspace.org). Only the address is sent, never your name or email. Exchange rates come from CoinGecko. Payments on public blockchains are visible to anyone; see How can I pay?
  • Abuse protection: we don't store IP addresses. For rate limiting we keep a keyed hash of your IP address that changes every day.
  • On your device: the "My orders" page remembers the orders you placed or opened in your browser (browser storage on your device only). You can clear it there at any time.
  • Our host (Cloudflare Pages) may process standard technical data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the site. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
  • We never record device identifiers (IMEI/serial) beyond what's needed for warranty and fraud prevention. We never have access to your data after delivery.
  • Contact contact@example.com to access or delete your data, subject to legal retention requirements.

9. Terms of sale (placeholder)

  • Ordering: you can order directly on this website. Placing an order reserves the item for 72 hours while we wait for payment. Unpaid orders are cancelled automatically after 72 hours. We may refuse or cancel an order, for example when stock is unavailable or an order appears fraudulent, and refund any payment received.
  • Interac e-Transfer: send the exact amount shown with your order, to the email address shown, using your order's one-time passcode as the security answer. Payments are confirmed manually.
  • Cryptocurrency (Bitcoin, Litecoin, Monero): each order gets its own payment address. The amount in cryptocurrency is calculated from the CAD total using the exchange rate at the time of the quote (source: CoinGecko) and is valid for 60 minutes; after that, refresh the amount on your order page before paying. Payments are credited at the CAD total of the order. If you send less than the quoted amount, or pay after the quote expired, we will contact you to settle the difference or refund you.
  • Taxes on crypto orders: no tax is added at checkout. Crypto prices are tax-included: the applicable GST/HST and provincial taxes are included in the price, shown on your order, and remitted by us.
  • Refunds of crypto payments are made in the same cryptocurrency, for the CAD value you paid, to an address you provide. Network fees for the refund are paid by us.
  • These terms are governed by the laws of [YOUR JURISDICTION, e.g. the Province of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada].

10. Shipping & tax (placeholder)

  • All prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD) and exclude the installation fee, tax and shipping unless stated. Crypto orders are priced tax-included (no tax added at checkout).
  • Every device order includes a GrapheneOS installation & setup fee of $60 CAD, shown as a separate line item. It covers our installation, verification, testing and setup service. GrapheneOS itself is free software and is not sold by us. The fee is taxable.
  • We charge GST/HST, and provincial sales taxes where we are registered to collect them, based on the delivery address (or Quebec for Montreal pickup). Tax is charged on the item, the installation & setup fee and shipping. GST/HST registration number: [YOUR GST/HST NUMBER].
  • The checkout shows the final amount before you place your order. Delivery times are estimates.
  • Phones ship tracked and insured and require a signature. Risk passes to you on delivery. Report visible damage to the packaging or tamper-evident seal within [48 hours].
  • For shipments outside Canada, import duties, taxes and brokerage fees are the buyer's responsibility.
